For Sarah Hearn, the living things we cannot see is a source of inspiration. Hearn's work is "grounded in studies of life on planet earth, and another hovering in a hazy atmosphere of science fiction." Taking artistic liberties at times, Hearn engages viewers in a whole new world.

Artist Sean Nash focuses on fusulinids - extinct, single-celled organisms that flourished in the Flint Hills region when a shallow sea connected the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Ocean. Through his new drawings and sculptural paintings, Nash makes a deep map of the Flint Hills.

In 2023, Kansas was one of just three states to offer a statewide photo contest alongside The Nature Conservancy's annual global competition. Jim Richardson, National Geographic photographer and one of the three jurors, will speak at 2pm, followed by the state director and staff of TNC in Kansas.

Hair of the Dragon includes an exhibit of new works in the gallery, while the field outside offers the opportunity for Hong to return to site-specific outdoor sculptures. A 90-foot dragon of hay bales is not to be missed.
