Thornton Wilder’s Our Town explores the nuances of daily life—the traditions, beliefs, and daily occurrences that come to represent both an individual’s existence, and the communal experience. The play’s 3-arc structure parallels the attributes that come to define our lives: “Daily Life;” “Love and Marriage;” and “Death.”

College English students at Wabaunsee High School researched their genealogy, interviewed community members, and created photo journals that embody “a value above all price for the smallest events in our daily life” (Wilder XV). The culminating projects illustrate the history of Wabaunsee County, and the people that carry its traditions and values.
