Join us on Sunday afternoon, October 29th for a casual open house between 1 and 4pm.

This is an opportunity to take a look at a portfolio of prints and video of Michael Shi’s various projects during his residency at Volland.

Michael Shi’s striking photographs, often made during fleeting moments of action from his subjects, are the result of a collaboration with the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory’s Dance Division. Spanning three projects, Shi and the performers utilized Kansas City’s urban landscape, the Spencer Theatre on UMKC’s campus, and the Flint Hills of Wabaunsee County, displaying various photographic and dancing techniques with each endeavor.

Although Michael has returned to Shanghai, he has generously offered to share his work for this one-weekend showing.
