Let’s create history, together!

Your support will help this summer’s community theatre productions return to

Wabaunsee County!

Outdoor event with a brick building in the background, people are gathered in the grassy area and near a small pond.

It was a warm summer evening in 2022 – the energy and excitement in the air was palpable. As the sun went down, the lights illuminated the Ruin and the show started. Members of the Volland community traveled short and long distances to see an experiment – a collaboration rooted in connection to Wabaunsee County.

Heart/Roots , directed by Beth Wynstra and written by Mary Pinard, highlighted the best of Wabaunsee County. The script pulled from first-hand stories and experiences of community members around Alma, KS and was brought to life by actors in the same community.

Now, in 2024, collaboration returns to the Ruin on a new level, making history in Wabaunsee County. Writing Wabaunsee County is written by local playwrights and brought to life by local actors. Of course, the ever-brilliant guidance of Beth Wynstra and Mary Pinard have set the stage for such a fantastic event and experience to flourish!

You can support this collaboration in a meaningful way through sponsorship opportunities available at various levels. Let’s create history in Wabaunsee County together!
