Kelley Hunt delivers the goods with a voice that grafts passionate blues to scorching soul –instantly endearing her to all within earshot, as her band surrounds her in a greasy funk that completes the package and brings you back for more.

– Eric Thom, Root s Music America

Eric Thom is exactly right. That’s why the Volland Foundation is pleased to bring Kelley Hunt back to the Flint Hills for a concert at The Ruin on Friday, September 22nd. Hunt will be joined by three other talented musicians: James Albright on acoustic bass, Brandon Graves on percussion, and Allena Ross with vocals.

Hunt works with ease across the genres of Americana, R&B, and Roots, and is a talented pianist, guitarist and singer. These will all be on full display on September 22nd.

The night will begin at 5:30pm. MHK Caravan Company will provide bar service while Destination Burrito will bring great food. You are welcome to bring your own picnic if you like, but no outside alcohol please- it violates the bar truck’s liquor license and is prohibited by their insurance.

Tables will be set up, and recorded music will be playing in the shady grove by the Blacksmith Shop. Inside the gallery, Salt Works , an exhibition by Allison Cekala will be on view, and the Volland History, Nature, and Sculpture Trail will be open for a late afternoon stroll.

The concert begins at 7:30pm and is expected to last until 9 o’clock.

Don’t forget your lawn chairs, any weather protection, and a water bottle.

Volland will provide water free of charge.

No pets allowed.
