Note - CHANGE OF VENUE

Due to predictions of rain Thursday through Saturday, the decision was made to move the theatre production to town!  Although we won't be at the Ruin this year, the venues in Alma are historical treasures and perfect places to stage a play about Kansas history.

Pre-play activities will be hosted by our good friends at the Wabaunsee County Historical Society Museum, truly a hidden gem and an authentic archive of the families of the county, accompanied by a significant collection of Indian tools.

The play will be performed in the original auditorium of Wabaunsee High School, vintage 1937, designed by prominent Topeka architect W.E.Glover, built as a WPA project.

We hope you enjoy this small-town experience in the heart of the Flint Hills.

6pm | Doors open at the Wabaunsee County Historical Museum, 227 Missouri Ave., Alma, KS
with Jonny's BBQ (reservations by June 24), MHKCaravan Co. Beverages
Flint Hills Pints Homemade Ice Cream

                   8pm | The performance begins!

Since 2022, Volland has hosted a theatre production at The Ruin every other year. 2026's installment of Theatre at the Ruin continues our community theatre efforts at an even deeper level. Collaborating with Switchgrass Theatre Company - a group launched in part by Wabaunsee Countian Emmett Spaw - Volland is the backdrop for a suite of Wabaunsee County written, produced, directed and acted plays.
