Emil Redmon’s Cow: Wisdom Keepers & Potluck
April 14 | Potluck begins at 12:30pm | Presentation at 2pm
RSVP with the Wabaunsee County Historical Society & Museum at 785-765-2200

Mark Feiden, photographer, videographer and creator of Emil Redmon’s Cow, returns to Volland to share stories from Flint Hills’ ranches and farms on Sunday, April 14th. Before Mark’s presentation, which will feature stories from Wabaunsee County and beyond, a community potluck will be hosted by Volland and the Wabaunsee County Historical Society & Museum.
Supported by the Trusler Foundation, Wabaunsee County Historical Society & Museum, Pioneer Bluffs and the Volland Foundation, Feiden documents stories from the Flint Hills, capturing and preserving history. The overarching project,
Emil Redmon’s Cow, began in 2019. Since then, Feiden has added to the project in waves, building an impressive catalog of stories.
In the latest addition to the project, titled
Wisdom Keepers, Feiden added another 27 stories to the project. The importance of this work cannot be understated. In the present, community members celebrate each other through the project, while Feiden’s documentation ensures these stories will be shared long into the future.
For those participating in the potluck,
please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Volland and the Historical Society are providing pulled pork and buns, drinks, and table service. After the meal the room will be flipped for the video/speaking presentation. If the weather allows, the meal will be outside in the picnic grove by the Blacksmith Shop.
We look forward to seeing you. Space is limited so RSVP right away!
